As a therapist that was licensed in another state, but before the current board exams were the standard, it had been more than a decade since I was last in school when New York State told me I needed to complete more education hours before taking their board exam to become licensed in NY. I mainly studied Shiatsu and Eastern techniques. As I had no other review classes, especially in the sciences, I decided to take a couple of review courses available online to refresh my memory on the more detailed parts of the curriculum that might be on the board exam.

The Massage Associates LLC review course provided a well rounded review of my two years of coursework. They concisely touched upon every topic and provided great explanations and memory aids. Deb and Jen's Eastern theory review was immaculately laid out. When I was done with school, I could not stop thinking about HOW I was going to study, take the test and pass my boards. I had a really hard time putting all the information from two years of study together. I had headaches just thinking about it. This is when I found Deborah and Jennifer's program. When I started studying with their tests and classes, I could not think about any other better way to pass my boards.

Throughout my teaching career in the massage therapy program at NYCHP (New York College of Health Professions, Syosset) my passion has always been to present new and challenging material to my students in a clear, understandable, and accessible format. I have been preparing future LMT’s for the New York State licensing board exam for over a decade in the college setting teaching a diverse curriculum including courses in Total Massage Review, Myology, Kinesiology, Medical Massage, Swedish Massage, Eastern Bodywork Modalities, Holistic and Public Health, Channels and Points, and many electives. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with graduates from across New York State, as together we cross that finish line. When I am not teaching you can find me in the garden or walking on the beach with my daughters.

As a licensed massage therapist, LANA certified lymphedema therapist, and Reiki Master I often work with medically fragile patients, including those in oncology, hospice and palliative care. In addition to running a private practice, I work at the Dubin Breast Center at Mount Sinai Hospital, teach in the massage therapy program at NYCHP (New York College of Health Professions, Syosset) and have successfully privately tutored students from various NYS massage therapy programs for the last several years in Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Neurology, Pathology and TCM/Eastern Massage Theory. I decided to become an LMT educator because I wanted to elevate the teaching experience to help graduates achieve their license so they can pursue the LMT career they desire. When I’m not working you will find me coaching for the non-profit Girls on the Run, volunteering as a Reiki Master for the Hospice Care Network, rock climbing, playing volleyball, or kayaking in Oyster Bay with my three kiddos.
